Sri Racha Tiger Zoo

Sri Racha Tiger Zoo

Sri Racha Tiger Zoo boasts a population of over 200 Tigers. The main attractions at this zoo are tigers, crocodiles and elephants,  there are a few other animal species to be seen here and include camels, deer, pigs and donkeys. The main emphasis of this zoo attraction revolves around four main shows which include a crocodile show, elephant show, tiger show and the pig racing show. All shows are very circus-like and make the Sri Racha Tiger Zoo more akin to a circus than a zoo.  If you are planning a visit two hours should be enough and with multiple show times per day, this should be sufficient to take in all the main shows and side attractions.

Animal welfare

During the animal show performances, you will see a fare amount of prodding and poking of the animals to get the animals to perform to the trainer’s requirements. This makes us wonder what sort of training regime these animals are put through when not in the public eye! The general consensus amongst many visitors is of rather poor animal welfare standards. Animal enclosures seem to be on the small side and with little stimulation for the animals. If you are an animal lover or want to see happy animals then maybe Sri Racha Tiger Zoo is not for you.
