Khao Chi Chan is a large 109-meter high image of Buddha sculpted onto the face of a limestone cliff not far from the seaside town of Pattaya. The image was sculpted in honour of the His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand for the 50th anniversary (golden jubilee) to celebrate the king’s accession to the throne. The seated image of Buddha is carved in the Sukhothai and Lanna style.<\/p>\n

There are no entrance fees to enter the grounds of Khao Chi Chan but voluntary donations to the images upkeep are welcome<\/p>\n

Getting to Kha Chi Chan<\/h4>\n

Khao Chi Chan is situetd about 15km from Pattaya. If you do not have your own transport then you can charter a taxi in Pattaya for a half-day or full-day to visit this attraction (usually worth combining with other attractions in this area) Alternatively Travel Hub offers a full-day guided tour of some of Pattaya’s main attraction<\/a>s\u00a0<\/a>which also includes Khao Chi Chan.<\/p>\n

There are other attractions in this area of interest which include Nong Nooch Gardens, Silverlake Vineyard (which is right next door!) Wiharn Sian Anek Kuson Sala, Wat Yanasangwararam so maybe make a full day out and include this buddha image combined with these other attractions.<\/p>\n
